3D CAD Designer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills and a passion to gain professional experience and knowledge in a team environment. You should be a detail-oriented professional, understand the importance of meeting personal and team commitments and be flexible in adapting to a fast-paced environment Candidates must have knowledge of computer aided drafting software (AutoCAD) and Solidworks.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Coordinate with lead engineer or designer to develop and generate 3D models and 2D technical drawings for the mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Coordinate with lead engineer or designer to develop 2D project layout drawings for gas and fluid handling equipment
- Evaluate and resolve problems by reviewing multiple sources of information and coordinating design criteria with other designers and engineers
- Create the necessary fabrication and installation drawings as required by Project Management,
- Understand drawing formats, numbering systems, submittals, and revisions.
- take responsibility for stringent timelines and due dates. Attention to detail when revising drawings, maintain accuracy with markups, dimensions and views is key.
- Ability to perform occasional field/site visits
- Ability to travel occasionally (estimated travel time is 5% average)
Required Skills/Abilities
- 2-3 years of mechanical design experience for industrial products (UHP piping preferred)
- Ability to read and understand and generate manufacturing / technical drawings
- Strong proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, the product and services
- Strong mathematical aptitude and the ability to analyze cost information and other data
- Organized with a strong attention to detail
- Strong critical thinking skills to creatively problem solve
- Ability to read and understand and generate manufacturing drawings
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
